The Nursery: Robbie's Room
The day has finally come to reveal our favorite room in the house: Robbie’s Nursery
We’ve spent hours in this room, perfecting every small detail and we are so thrilled with how it came out. We knew we wanted this space to be “neutral but elevated,” full of whimsy and magic, and we wanted to make sure it was a practical space in which he could grow.
When I saw this wallpaper from Rifle Paper Co., I fell in LOVE, and I knew it would be the perfect backdrop for his crib (Crate & Barrel). It reminded me of a fairy tale you’d read about as a child, and we love how it is understated, yet charming. The mobile above the crib (Restoration Hardware) has small bunnies as well, and I loved how sweet they looked together.
We went with dark finishes for the wooden furniture in the room, to contrast the creams and beiges seen in the textiles. The dresser we chose is from Pottery Barn Kids, and this vintage mirror from one of my favorite local boutiques, The Findery, was exactly what I had envisioned in this corner.
The cream settee is by Studio McGee and it’s been so sweet to sit there beneath the window in the mornings as he slowly wakes up in his crib. At night, we utilize the most comfortable slider ever (truly!) from Pottery Barn Kids.
For accents, we wanted to bring in elements of nature, so we added some greenery, as well as animal-themed pieces (playing off the cute bunny wallpaper!). The lion rocker was the perfect little piece (PB Kids), as was the giraffe storage bin (PB Kids) which is not only adorable, but functional, which is overall what we wanted to accomplish in this space.
This nursery came together better than we could have ever dreamed, and though it was a labor of love, it was one that was truly so very worth it.
